Brow Lift Surgery
Forehead and brow lifts are used to alleviate drooping eyebrows and reduce forehead wrinkles and frown lines. Using the endoscopic technique, incisions are hidden within the hair. Dr. Kevin Ende also uses the trichophtytic approach which allows the hairline to remain where it is or moves it lower while removing extra forehead skin and hiding the scar. Dr. Ende’s technique of attaching the tissue to the bone with long-term dissolving sutures gives a long lasting result.
Brow lift surgery is performed under IV sedation. You will be asleep for injections but may be partially awake during the procedure. This is done to minimize anesthesia risks. The procedure lasts for 1.5 hours, which includes fixation to the bone to ensure the brow stays elevated. Most patients use pain medication for the first night. Ice is then a better option. Sutures will dissolve after 7 days. Bruising may last for one week and swelling for 2 weeks. Scars fade over 2 to 3 months. Most people take 1 to 2 weeks off work after the procedure.
