A stronger chin can make a stronger face.  In some people, a small chin - one that recedes or is not prominent enough-can make the nose appear more prominent. Conversely, a large chin or one that protrudes can throw the rest of the face off balance. If the teeth are in proper alignment, some patients can benefit from procedures to reshape the chin.   Chin implantation is a relatively quick procedure, which involves a small incision underneath the chin and placement of a silastic implant.  This incision is placed in a natural skin crease.  An added benefit of chin implantation is the reduction of the prejowl sulcus and marionette lines, which are signs of facial aging.
